summer program

Zone 3 summer program help me  to reach my goals, help me on stuff I need to know for 7th grade, zone 3 helps me be my self and zone summer program help me if I have a problem in my life the help me for being there when I need them. Zone 3 summer program is like a 2nd  family to me we be there for each other in good in bad. Thank you miss ketlen for teach me yoga I like doing yoga I never get bored with it . When we went to the garden that change my life for ever because I need to make a difference in my communtiy and in my life, I had fun talking about my communtiy, thinking about it, n answer qustion,eating blue berrys,feeding the chickins, i compose and seeing how they help there communtiy with the can do it I can tooo it dosnet matter your size what matter is you like doing it and you help your self . the fun part of about the summer program is we have lots of fun and we went to the lake I was so scaryed of felling down but i have lots of fun and i would never tred it for anything and i would never for get this summer. thank you too all the teacher for makeing this the great summer i ever had. I love the plants they give i take googd care of it I give them water and i put the plant where the cane be sun. Thank you i can never repay you but the only thing i can do so do good stuff in life.

The oakhurst community garden was a great experience it wasent what i expected it was even better. i recomend every one to visit the  oakhurst community garden. you will enjoy every bit if it. expecially the chickens. and all of the natrul growned plants that you can eat.

soccer game

 

One of the things that I do at cpacs is play soccer. Most of the time we lose but I still like playing. Yesterday we won but today we lost 5-2.

cpacs is a  fun place were  you learn new things and you can meet new people. cpacs is a heathy they feed you heathy food,and heathy activitys cpacs is a great place to meet new friends new teachers and others i have been going to cpacs for 2 years now and if you come i hope you like it           BY:jb

Pyramid Sundaes

From CPACS Youth Nutrition Program

Makes 1 Serving, 1 3/4 cup

You will need:
1/2 cup lightly sweetened cereal, such as Life or granola
6 oz. vanilla low-fat yogurt
1/2 cup berries or cut-up fruit (drain if using canned)
2 Tablespoons chopped pecans

Steps:
1. Put cereal in a soup bowl or sundae dish. Crush slightly with spoon. Spread in even layer over bottom.
2. Add yogurt. Spread evenly over cereal.
3. Rinse fruit or drain if canned. Sprinkle fruit evenly over yogurt.
4. Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly over fruit. Serve.

Peach Crumble

From CPACS Youth Nutrition Program

Makes 3 Servings, 1 cup each

You will need:
3 large sheets graham crackers
1 Tablespoon soft margarine
2 teaspoons sugar
15-oz. can peaches, slices or chunks
1 1/2 cup plain nonfat yogurt

Steps:
1. Place graham crackers in a zip top plastic bag or between two pieces of foil and crumble, using the unopened can of peaches as a rolling pin.
2. Melt margarine.
3. Add graham cracker crumbles and sugar to melted margarine and stir to mix.
4. Open can of peaches and drain off liquid.
5. Heat peaches until warm, 1-2 minutes.
6. Pour 1/2 cup of plain yogurt in each of 3 small (1 cup) bowls.
7. Top each bowl with 1/3 of warm peaches.
8. Top peaches with 1/3 of graham cracker crumbles and serve.

Harvest Muffins

From CPACS Youth Nutrition Program

Makes 12 muffins.

You will need:
1 can (14.5 oz.) sliced carrots, drained
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 egg
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup sugar
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Non-stick spray OR Muffin liners (12)

Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Drain carrots of salty liquid and pour onto dinner-size plate.
3. Sprinkle cinnamon over carrots.
4. Mash with fork until all pieces of carrot are about the size of peas.
5. Put mashed carrots in medium size mixing bowl.
6. Break egg into seperate small bowl and mix well with fork.
7. Add oil to egg and mix well.
8. Add oil/egg mixture to carrots.
9. Add sugar and stir well.
10. In a seperate bowl, stir together flour, baking soda and salt.
11. Add flour mixture to carrot mixture and stir until moist.
12. Pour batter into muffin tins sprayed with nonstick spray or lined – about half full.
13. Bake 25-30 minutes. Test center of one muffin with a toothpick. If it comes out clean, the muffin is done.
14. Cool 5 minutes. Best served warm. Makes 12 muffins.

* To make 24 mini muffins, bake for about 20 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
